Happy Burns Night everyone! I finally managed to find some haggis in Sydney and made a burns supper of Haggis, Neeps and Tatties (that's turnip and potatoes for those of you who don't know). I decided i should try and teach the germans some scottish culture and even got them to try and recite a burns poem - absolutely hysterical! Happy 50th Birthday to my Dad too!!!

The following day was Australia Day and almost everyone spent it in the pub! We watched the fireworks at Darling Harbour which were pretty good and a jet fighter passed overhead with its burners on which frightened everyone! Had some drinks at The Rocks before dancing the night away in Kings Cross.

Last weekend I went on a day trip to the Blue Mountains with Laura and Amy. The blue mountains got their name becasue of the haze which surrounds them, created by the oil from eucalyptus leaves reacting with the sun.

The scenery is spectacular but it was the hottest day in Sydney so far - a massive 45 degrees, so we didn't feel too active and up for all the rainforest walking. The main attraction is the 3 sisters

and it was a great to finally see them since i keep on selling tours for everyone else to go for the day!

The scenic railway was nice and we did the cable car back up the mountain. There was a stop at a Wildlife Park and we saw lots of kangaroos, koalas, emus and I saw Quolls for the first time too.

Laura (my best german travel buddy) has now left me for New Zealand and i'm gonna miss her a hell of a lot cos we spend every spare minute together practically. In her last week we partied far too hard and went out 5 consecutive nights! now it's time to rest... I've had enough of Sydney now and have quit my job and am heading off to melbourne next week to continue my travels where I may or may not get another job!!
