the Baranquilla Carnival
with Katherine and Steph I stumbled upon these photos browsing through my old pictures from my early period in Colombia...I came across these nice photos from Barranquilla...the famous festival which is held every year in February or March (can't remember the exact month). But I do remember it was pretty crazy...Spectacular! Can't really tell if it was a
puente or a short holiday, I remember I spent a few days there with Kath and Steph, 2 AIESEC members from Santa Marta.
I spent a few days covered in sticky
maicena (don't know how to spell it), a kind of powder or flour people walk around throwing at each other. After covering you in this whiteish powder, they spray foam all over you!! I felt sticky and dirty for the entire period there, with
maicena powder and foam all over me, sweating from the boiling heat in Barranquilla, walking aimlessly and drinking beer! What a total mayhem! Paradise, I say!:P I can remember those few days so vividly, as if they happened yesterday! The carnival was spectacular, the gay parade was great, counting some guys that looked better than women, with fit and curvy bodies. And I remember Carlos Vives singing
