Ho Ho Ho!

I've been to the city today trying to capture for you the essence of an Australian Christmas. I even climbed the Harbour Bridge for you to get some good shots (pretty pleased with them I am!)

Lots of shopping going on, usual hustle and bustle but I miss the festive lights and atmosphere of Christmas in a cold climate (but not the cold climate!). I've avoided the usual round of parties and wining and dining which has been excellent for my waist line which is under strict orders!

So whatever you are doing my friends, wherever you are, in Florida or Hawaii, USA; Calgary or Vancouver, Canada; Barnes, Ladywell, Aberdeen, Ipswich, Reading, Brighton, Ealing, Watford, Burnt Wood, Millbank, Paddington, Chiswick, UK, or here in Oz in Mount Martha, Carnegie, Coburg, Tamworth, Hendra, Newport, Belrose, Brisbane, Ashfield, Westleigh, Chatswood and other places too many to mention - I wish you a very Happy Christmas and a brilliant New Year and look forward to keeping in touch with you in the future.

I'm off early January in my new campervan (well it's not exactly new except to me) up the coast to a summerschool in Bellingen on 'Life Stories' - check out www.campcreative.com.au - then joining up with bush poets stalwarts (I'm a bit rusty in the poetry department but have been invited to perform if I can get my act together) at Tamworth Country Music Festival (www.tamworth.nsw.gov.au/asp/index.asp?pgid=26601) until the end of January.

Then off to Melbourne to meet up with my Mount Isa buddies to spend a bit of time chewing the fat about the good old days when we worked for Mount Isa Mines in NW Queensland, paid very little tax and enjoyed a bonus for living in an isolated area. No deprivation there...enjoying life to the max, in our staff quarters with meals prepared for us in the staff mess. Oh those were the days!

Thanks for all your messages. Will send a blog from Bellingen and/orTamworth.

Season's Greetings
Fab pictures of Sydney - miniseries of domestic disasters have me hankering after my own combi -am spending Christmas with Anne and her Aussie niece and nephew - not their usual barbie by the pool. Glad to hear you are rediscovering the real you! Don't forget the straw bales in 2007...x
