Hi all,
I am flying to New Delhi on June 7th and am spending a month in India with a friend before flying to SE Asia. We have decided to head to the hills and go to Himachal Pradesh and surrounding states first of all. The only problem i have is that our flight flies out from Mumbai on July 6th. Is this going to be a nightmare travelling down South in monsoon season as i've read that the floods are terrible? We are going to be seriously budgeting so a flight down is probably out of the question and i do want to take the train to see more of the country.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Emma

Reply to this Hey!
We will be in Kerala area at the end of June / early July too during this time.
I am currently in Bangalore, boyfriend will come join me, and from 28th June - approx 6/7th July we travel South West Coast by train, making our way to Mumbai to fly to Delhi, then travel surrounding areas for a week.
As everyone has already said - enjoy the monsoon season - come prepared with wet weather gear and expect to be travelling in the rain. It rains a lot in Kerala - even now. June/July is off-peak time, so finding accomodation for a good price should be easy. If you are planning on going to Goa, do before July, everything closes about this time.
The Kerala Backwaters cruise is meant to be spectacular! Looking forward to this. And the Munnar Hill Plantations and Periyar Wildlife Park.
