Hi, I am planning a RTW trip and to avoid the very hot temperatures in Vietnam and Cambodia I will go going there from Australia around January time. I really, really want to go to Bali and more than likely Borneo. How can I do this economically? Is there an easy way to do this kind of trip? Or should I forget Bali and head for Borneo - is that easier? All advice will be greatly appreciated! Reply to this

travel in Borneo is quite pricey I think. What is it you want to see there? If its the Orangutans go to Bukit Lawang in Sumatra. Bali is ok....Flores is much better though. Don't miss out Gilly Trawangan either...

sorry don't think I helped atll there! just added more ideas! happy travels Reply to this

Hi,

I'm travelling from vietnam to thailand via borneo and bali, the way I'm doing this is using airasia airline, which is a budget airline for the region, i have found this the most economical way to travel round this area. www.attitudetravel.com lists all the airlines for the area, and asianewsdesk.com tells you which airlines fly different routes. To travel from Bali to Borneo (or vice versa) your best bet is to go via Kuala Lumpur. I leave next week to embark on my journey, so feel free check my blog. Reply to this

also, I'd avoid the Sabah region of Borneo as they are currently kiddnapping tourists, this website can give you all the travel danger warnings www.fco.gov.uk Reply to this

I am going to Borneo next week. Will be in Sandakan visiting plantations from Mon-Fri, and then head to Mabul/Sipadan for my advanced diving course. I cannot wait! Let me know if you decide to go to Borneo!
