rajasthan/punjab/delhi- north india will go abt 40-50 celcius in may.
rajasthan goes as high as 55 celcius

You can try extreme north-Simla/kullu/manali/himalayas- which will be cold.-snowy mountains.

I am sorry, i am not sure what you mean by golden triangle...which states you mean?
If its Delhi/Amritsar/Rajasthan/agra/jaipur etc, then itll be dry and hot as there is no sea nearby.
i used to live in bombay and it was humid and hot...and now i am near delhi... this heat is pretty different than what humid heats we have near seashore....is taht a pleasure tour or ure here for work? Reply to this

well ..if youve already booked tour, and its a conduted/guided tour...theyll help u out...just as generic...negotiate hard wherever you go,careful with ur valuables and passport,if in doubt, and if you want to find rite answers ask people who are not selling anything to tourists ,best person can be fellow indian travellers/tourists 😊....
go thru posts on this forum, and u can ask me more if you like.

If you're travelling in May, you'd be better off flying into Delhi and then heading to Ladakh/Kashmir, Dharamshala, Manali, Shimla or go to Uttaranchal; Gangotri(source of the ganges), Nainital, Nanda devi and the valley of flowers area. The Desert would be too hot. Around mid 40C or above 100 F and pretty dry, like parts of Arizona, or else you could go to the eastern sector i.e Darjeeling, Sikkim and maybe Bhutan. Reply to this

great thanks for the input but i have a package tour that does only 9 nights in delhi/jaipur/agra combined so not much room for changing. if you were to have basically like 8 days in India and you are landing in Delhi what would you do? would the jaipur/agra/delhi combo be the thing to do????? 8 days is a short trip for a place like India. But yeah its different with package tours. So, if you're flying into Delhi, thats pretty much all you can do in the Delhi-Agra-Jaipur sector. Unless you change the package, to say, Delhi-Uttaranchal or Delhi-Ladakh. As for Agra it is still doable with any trip that originates in Delhi. You just need one day for Agra(during your stay in Delhi) or better yet if you leave before dawn you can come back the same day. Reply to this

hi there our iterinary is 4 nights delhi 2 jaipur and 2 in agra.. i cant take any more time off work and the trip was a package together and was cheap so it's going to have to do. would love to spend more time in india and im sure ill be back again to see more....... i have 2 full days free in delhi (apart from the one i have a city tour included w/ the basic sights already).

i was recommended to go to go to HArdiwar w/ a stay @ a palace hotel or ahsram or 1 night in Amritsar for a day trip one of those two days..any suggestions? /comments??

also if i go to armistrar i understand that is close to lahore pakistan.. is there anything to see there??

also for those two optoins above what is better experience a private driver or a train? someone said u have to do an indian train on a trip to india ..... the other travel between agra and jaipur will all be on motorcoach.!

Delhi-Agra-Jaipur travel is mostly on motorcoaches that leave from Delhi. But if you're going to Amritsar trains are your best bet(as they are for any journey in India that takes more than 4-5 hours, Chandigarh, Agra and Jaipur are pretty much the only places that you should bus to if at all from Delhi and in an AC coach to be precise. Although i think Amritsar should be done with the Himachal or Ladakh etc. especially if you want to see Lahore which is closeby. I hear there's plenty to see in Lahore much like Delhi both have a mix of Mughal and British monuments. The punjabi/ tandoori food in Amritsar and Lahore is awesome they even have a street named as food street in Lahore, you just have to find the right places...and yeah no alcohol in Pakistan.

I like the idea of a day or two in Haridwar or maybe nearby Rishikesh. Thats where the ganges leaves the foothills.....close enough to Delhi. Are you still sitting on the puter....what time is it in Miami??? Reply to this

You're welcome....Lahore is pretty safe from what i hear. Just stick to the city or better yet put a Canadian flag on your you backpack....isn't that what Americans do nowadays while travelling to Europe or Australia.......lol. Are you travelling with someone??? If you can do Amritsar it'd be pretty good too...the Golden Temple is awesome next only to the Taj Mahal in India....eventhough its a temple. Then there is the closing ceremony at the border every evening. Reply to this

I went to India at the end of May, June and part of July. I thought I was gonna die of the heat stroke. There is a reason for the package to be cheap and its not really worth going there in heat. Infact even locals stay inside the houses and don't travel much in hot weather. If you get sick you can end in hospital. I didn't mean to scare you but take all the precautions if its absolutely necessary for you to go there. Reply to this
