Ferry from Halong Bay to Hainan

I know that there used to be a ferry running from Halong Bay to Hainan but I am getting mixed reports about it now. Some of my friends are saying it is not running anymore while others are saying it is. Does anyone know for sure what is going on? Reply to this

I think that you must travel overland from Ha Long town to Mong Cai town by bus or by hydrofoil. The int'l border crossing is Mong Cai - Dongxing. Reply to this

There is no ferry from Halong Bay to our Hainan. You have to stop and tranfer via another city of our China. Reply to this
