Hi, me and some friends are travelling to Japan, China, Thailand and i've seen some air passes offered by star alliance and one world alliance, does anyone know the best way to book these? a few travel agents can't provide any information, I've tried contacting British Airways direct and they've not been able to help either.. thanks, Sheen Reply to this

Sounds strange. Did you find out the exact names of the particular offers/passes in question?

Any decent travel agent that handles biz travel should be able to advice on and book tickets like these for you (or find out for you if they don't). I recently got myself the Star Alliance Japan Airpass this way. In that particular case you can also call ANA directly at their customer support line for your country and they will book it for you through your credit card. Reply to this

Hi Grant, who were your international flights with? we've booked BA flights out to Japan, and because BA are part of the star alliance group they've advised that i can't get their airpass. BA's one world alliance is working out too expensive... Reply to this

That is correct, you'd have to arrive on a Star Alliance member's flight to take advantage of the ANA offer. However, JAL is a member of OneWorld and I wouldn't be surprised if they had a similar offer. Perhaps you can check with their reservation center to see if they have any suitable offers for domestic travel in japan? Reply to this

It's better to find a local travel agency to help you handle it , because usually they are a little more professional in giving traveler advices and more zealous though there maybe some little commission. But I think it reasonable and comfortable. Reply to this
