Hi everyone,

I'm from singapore.. I'm planning to backpack india from 20 Dec 2007 till 1 Jan 2008 (12 days). I would like u to advise me the possible itineraries. I'm traveling with 1 friend, both of us are females in our early 20s. We are hoping to go on a low budget, abt S$1,600 (which is abt 42,668 Indian Rupee) including a return airticket to Delhi.

We hope to see a mixture of city, culture and nature like mountains and especially the Himalayas. There is an Indian tour agent who suggested to us that we should visit these places..

Shimala
Kullu
Manali
Shrinagar
Khajusaho
Agra
Jaipur
Jodhpur

I wonder if you provide tour packages or customised tours? Which airline should i take to cut cost of traveling from Singapore to India?

I did some reading and found that Leh seems to be quite an interesting place to visit, with beautiful scenery.. What do u think? Reply to this

Hi oneheart,

You can find cheap air tickets for domestic flights in India like Air Deccan, Go Air etc....Indian Airlines should be the cheap option from Singapore to India.

Leh is in the Himalayas almost 3500 meters above sea level. You can find lot of Budhist monastries there.
Shrinagar, Shimla, Kulu & Manali are all hill stations in the Himalayas. All 4 of them are not very different so I guess you can visit any one of these places.

Khajurao in central India, is famous for the temples.

Agra has the TajMahal a must see for everyone.

Jaipur and Jodhpur are cities in the deserts of Rajastan. You can find lots of places here.....but I guess you need to visit just one of them as you will find them similar.

You can also try out Goa - which has strong Portugese influence and has lovely beaches. Kumarakom in Kerala for backwaters. and maybe Hyderabad for an Hi-tec city.

Happy Journey!!!

I refer ou to go to Shimla and manali and not to Shrinagar, because though it is a very good place but now this place is not safe due to some political reseans. In decemberManali and Shim;a both places will be very cold. Reply to this

Hi Tumpa,

You can visit Leh in Summer ,in winters it will be too cold and temperature would be below zero.

You can visit Jaipur,Jodhpur,Agra,Udaipur.
