Ramadan in Kuala Lumpur

Are the restaurants and bars closed in Kuala Lumpur during the season of Ramadan? Are the tourist destinations such as the sunway lagoon and genting highlands closed?

Is eating during the day really not done during Ramadan in Malaysia?

I'm going to kuala lumpur on Sept 17 to 22 with my wife. We're not muslims so I'd like to know if there will be restaurants open during the day for non-muslims during the ramadan period. I am asking this because I would like to prepare our trip with respect and accordance to the culture of Malaysians. I'd like to know what we can do during the day in Kuala Lumpur in this time of Ramadan? Are the malls and shops open? Where are the best places to go during the day?

hi jvslim,

I think u should know by now during Ramadan, all restaurants, bars, shopping malls including Sunway Lagoon and Genting open as usual. In fact, it is kind of a celebration for the whole nation. Restaurants and hotels are having special promotion on buffet dinner or dinner with wider range of choices with normal days as most would like to open fasting in restaurants and hotels and celebrate for the Ramadan month.
