That pretty much says it.
Hello everyone. My husband and I would like to ask your advice on an issue.
We own a timeshare in the Carribean. At the time we acquired it such properties were hard to come by, and it was kind of a steal due to my husband's business contacts. However, due to the weather that pours through that area, the property has turned into a mess every bad season. We weren't really prepared for Wilma, unfortunately. Ah well, live and learn. Now, though, the trouble has been trying to unload the property. I guess most people don't want to deal with the hassle of reconstruction or weather-control upgrading.
Thanks in advance for any ideas! We love Travelblog!
Reply to this I feel so sorry for folks that live in hurricane-prone areas. How they face that threat every year is truly amazing. In any case, that seems to me to be part of the trade-off with these locations -- the beauty of the land and sea, but the hazards of the weather. A lot of real estate people are aware of this down there but still willing to shell out the money for timeshare property, it seems. Of course if selling is SUCH a headache you could try donating it to a charity of your choice or transferring the title through a company like Timeshare Relief. But my guess is that during the off season your chances will improve, so I would keep the timeshare clean during then. Sorry for your misfortune!
