Hey again,
Im coming to India for 1 month so i have time to spare, would you suggest that I fly into Delhi as oppose to Mumbai and travel around northern India for the first ten days and then fly to Mumbai/Goa. The sun is an essential element for me... Reply to this

Hi Nayan, I will be in Mumbai on business for 12 days starting late October. What sites should I be sure not to miss? I will be there over one complete weekend but other than that will have only weekday evenings to explore

I hate to ask but how safe is it for a (savvy) woman alone? at night? Things to be careful of? Got shopping tips? Favorite shopping areas? Got favorite restaurant that's easy to get to on public transportation (any area)? Thanks. Reply to this

Hi
one thing you should not miss is bollywood if you get chance to see it..there are so many places chowpaty beaches..lots of shopping malls
well mumbai is world class city so should not be any problem for a women alone but still its better to be safe

at nights it depends on which places you visit normally its safe upto 12 in the night but since you alone see that you take enough safety measure and dont talk much to strangers.
shopping again you need to bargain alot always (except at good shops).favorite shopping areas depend on hotel where u wil be staying.have you already got a hotel booked?which area you willbe staying?

you can chat with me on yahoo or msn messenger my id there are

or if you cant chat reply me back via email

Great. I'll let you know when I've booked a hotel, I don't know the area yet. So if someone offers me a price, what % of that do they hope to actually get? I know in China you can get things for 50% less than they quote if you're saavy. They snipped your Ids, oh, well. Reply to this

Hi Nayan,

I'm going to Mumbai at the beginning of January, I was wondering if you could advise me a cheap but nice guest house where I could stay for 4 or 5 nights

Thanks a lot

Though we have spoken about the weather conditions, I would also like to know about the food. What is the main course of an average mumbaite? Reply to this

Hello Nayan

We are arriving in Mumbai at 4am on June 11th as part of our Honeymoon travels. Please could you recommend a good hotel we can stay in for our first night? We would like a 4 or 5* hotel but one that is very traditional and unique definitely not a Hotel where when you wake up you have no idea what country you are in. We would like to experience the architecture and the culture and the food of Mumbai.

We understand our arrival in Mumbai may coincide with monsoon torrential rain which is bad luck but then something we are looking forward to experiencing! we are planning on venturing up to Delhi visitng towns along the way - we will be in India for 5 weeks with our flight onwards leaving from Delhi - but if Monsoon is so bad travel will be affected is there an alternative way to travel to Delhi - back of a lorry??! elephants??

Many thanks. Your advice and suggestions on here are really interesting and valuable.
