Looking for info on Yosemite
16 years ago, May 16th 2007 No: 1 Msg: #13976
I will be in San Francisco in about a week and I am looking to go to Yosemite.

What is the best way to get there and spend a few nights there (approx 4 nights). I will be by myself so a car is out.

Any suggestions, anything that I should/must do while in Yosemite. Reply to this

Yosemite is absolutely amazing! Getting there I am not sure, I was doing a road trip when I went, I'm sure there are buses there from San Fran.

Try and spend at least 2 days there. Just explore the entire park, you are given maps and other details when you get in.

Definitely go to Glacier Point, I didnt get too (was there during winter) but supposed to be out of this world...

See the Giant Sequoias - another must see.

It's just a top notch place! Reply to this

If you're unable to rent a car, I'm betting there's a bus line that would get you there. If you can rent a car, definitely do because then you can stay outside Yosemite which is a lot cheaper than staying in the park. I rented a car and drove there and stayed a couple of nights but only had 1 day to really see the park because of a conference I had to be at.

Yosemite is absolutely beautiful. Try to spend a couple days touring if possible. If you don't have a car, there are lots of bus tours inside the park to get you to the main sites. I had a day before a business conference and did the park's all day eco tour which was fabulous and got you to all the main sites of the park with a great tour guide giving a history lesson all along the way. If I would have had a 2nd day, I would have hit the off the beaten path spots since I had a rental car. Check out my blog on it for the great pics I got on the eco tour:

Downside of the bus tour is that you might not have as much time as you want to go off exploring but up side is the guide and getting toted around. Regardless, you will be so happy to had a chance to view this most amazing place! Reply to this
