Reply to this I spent 10 days in Hong Kong/Macau last May and would love to return there.
Do you have any suggestions of what to see after having visited most of the
usual tourist spots?

Reply to this Hi Mic,
I'm living in HK too, nice to meet you here 😊.
That's nice, u are visiting Taiwan, is it just taipei?? I have been there in last December, it's was my first flight to taipei, 5 days trip, it's pretty enough for just only taipei, thought.
My first impression about Taipei is that Taiwanese is very nice and passionate in helping tourist. Taipei have many great bookshop and cafe, also have a 24 hrs bookshop in the central of taipei, I remember that i stay in the bookshop till 2am haaaa...i like reading by the way. :> And, many great food there, u should try all kind of food :p Spa in Taipei is also famous, u can try it too.
I do have a personal blog that I share my taiwan photo with friends. take a look if u have time.Hope u will like it 😊

Reply to this HI happysnaper,
I'm glad that u like hk and would love to return 😊
Macau is also really nice, I have been there 2 days ago...many new casinos openned, a new casinos called Wynn, it's really great and beautiful, it's worth to visit.
For hk, have u ever been hiking in hk?? HK has so many beautiful country park.
Reply to this Hi Shiry,
I remember seeing the new casinos under constuction, lets hope that Macau can still keep its charm.
I have not been hiking in hk, only walking to see many of the city sights.
Also I walked across Lamma Island, that was great.
Where would you find the country parks in hk?
Reply to this happysnaper,
thanks so much =)
in fact i'm also a Macau resident! I was born in HK so dun worry i'm really a HK boy.But my mum and grandma was in Macau, so i can also get the identity~~~
Beside the casino, travel tower...there are much more nice stuff waiting for u~
in the past few years....macau has changed a lot....it used to be a comfortable and silent town, you can really breath the fresh air with old european style...
However... MONEY changed it all the way~~ many high school students leave for a job in casinos, a few months before they graduate!
well anyway~if u can let me know more about ur interests, i can give u more good suggestions~
cheers,
- mic
Reply to this Shiry,

yup i totally agree~ i love the bookstores, cafe, music, arts and culture of Taiwan too~
i think that it is so good to be a HK people, especially for travel abroad~~simply we can read and speak 2 of the most important languages =P
I'm going to spend my 5 days to travel around the "Taipei country"..places include Jiofen,Pingshi,North East Coast,Tamsui
i love travelling on train since i was a kid....so i'll also take a ride on train along the coast~and try the new "HighSpeedRailway"
I'll make a nice travel blog for my comming 5days trip, recording my experiences and feeling~hope to share with u =)
cheers,
mic
Reply to this Hi mic,
Thanks for your reply, you are very fortunate to have so many places to visit that are close by.
It is true that money will inevitably change the charm of Macau but I hope all the beautiful historical buildings will be retained.
I live in Australia and travel to anywhere is a long trip. If I get the opportunity to make another trip to Hong Kong & Macau
I would like to explore the smaller islands.
Cheers,

Reply to this I may be visiting Hong Kong for the first time next year. I heard the shopping there is incredible. But isn't it expensive? Is there a part of town where you can find the best deals? I also heard that lots of the chinese food in China/Hong Kong is different than the kind you find in the USA. I heard it is not as good. I find that hard to believe. What is your opinion on that?
Reply to this Shiry,
Thank you~~i've backed with a wonderful trip....too much to tell and i'm still working on organizing the photos~~~hope i can share with u all soon =)
Britrock1,
Thanks for your reply and welcome to HongKong.
For shopping, it really depends on what you want to buy and where you go.For example, if u buy a mobile phone in TsimSaTsui, or in ShumShuiPo, will be two totally different price with same quality.
For food, well I haven't been to USA and i haven't tried any chinese food there so can't compare. But of course, in HongKong we have the most "original version" of chinese food.
I'm hapi to provide more information to u, if u want u may add me in MSN =)
Reply to this really? that;s good, you had a great time there 😊
Britrock, yes, i agreed with micgo that, HK has the "original" Chinese food and Dim Sum here. I bet you will like them😊
Reply to this Hey I live in HK too. It is a great vibrant city - not good for a relaxing getaway, but great if you like a good bit of hustle and bustle technological madness. A lot of people always miss out on the nice environmental green side of HK, which is a hidden secret and very nice.
A good site with some inside tips -

Have fun!
Reply to this Hong Kong's a great city to visit and have some fun at. Everything is much cheaper than you would buy back home though, just be careful any electronics you buy will work on your systems back home!
Reply to this I love Dim Sum! But the closest I have gotten to "authentic" would be in Chinatown in San Francisco. I'm eager to experience the real deal! Also, I am looking forward to throwing on my adidas and try to jog on the Great Wall. Is there any rules from doing something like that? Or would I look silly trying to do that?
Reply to this Hey Mic

Reply to this i had been avoiding going to HK cos the accommodation is too costly. But if someone can lead me to cheap clean place conviniently located near the underground cost less than HK200, i appreciated.
Reply to this I've been in HK and Macau too and i love that city although things are quite expensive except the electronics. Hope can return sometimes
