traveling with kids to Bali. should all of us have vaccines to malaria?
Can any one tell us that is it or not important to have vaccines to malaria when you are traveling to Indonesia? Thank you. I hope to have an answer from you.
Reply to this It's best to have the basic vaccination boosters and vaccinations - Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Polio and tetanus booster. You can get Hep B too, but not sure it's essential. These are generally recommended for most people travelling to less developed countries. Your doctor should be able to advise.
Reply to this I believe its for your own heath assurance as well specially for children, they must have been completed their vaccines. Its your decision after all but if you really want to be sure of, try to ask your doctor.
Reply to this I think you'd be fine. Long clothing dawn and dusk. Malaria vaccines, pills, etc. are harsh on the body. Agreed, typhoid vaccine is probably more necessary.

Reply to this Well, I usually cover all vaccines before I travel. I was also prepared with the Malaria tabs when I visited Indonesia. What I found, mosquito is not a problem either in Bali or Ubud. I was also ok in Jogja. But when I traveled to Borneo jungle in Kalimantan, mosquitos were ready to eat me alive, and I expected that. So I was prepared. If you are not traveling to such remote places, you would be okay. But please take doctor's advice, the above is my experience only.
