Hi guys,
My fiancée and I are planning to visit Halong Bay Vietnam for our honeymoon as some of my friends visited and highly suggested. We have 3 days in total so I think a 2-day trip will make sense but I’m wondering it is long enough to enjoy everything there? Can you guys recommend what we should do, where we should stay and discover?

- on the honeymoon vacation, you should spend 3 days & 2 nights in Halong bay because you will have enough time to relax & experience
+ You can join 1 night on boat + 1 night in hotel in Catba island (or 1 night on bungalow)
+ 2 nights on boat: you will have many time to explore Halong bay, kayaking, swimming - visit some pristine places: lagoons or beaches... - recommend!
It's also very easy to find information & book Halong bay tours. .

You have two choices. You could book a tour from Hanoi. There are One and two night tours. The two night tour has one night on the boat and one in a hotel on Cat Ba island, where you go for a walk in the national park. The one night tour is just on the boat. If you choose this option, find a company that has its own boats, as most travel agencies just sell tours from other companies, so you book one itinerary, but the boat they put you on has a different itinerary, and you also end up swapping boats in the middle. Another issue with travel agencies is that they all sell the same boats, but for different prices, so you end up on a trip you didn't expect with people who paid a lot less than you.
Your second option is to go from Hanoi to Haiphong and then to Cat Ba from there. You can get a bus straight through. On Cat Ba you can book a boat trip and national park trip yourself, so you see the boat etc, you are going on.

You have reason to spend your honeymoon vacation in Halong bay. It's amazing. If possible, you can spend 3 days- 2 night on a boat, so you can totally relax and have a time with your love. But, if you don't have enought time, 2 days/1 night is Ok. You can enjoy a BBQ dinner in beach or in cave and it's great. Contact to me if you want to know what boat offer this service.
