Could do with some stories of experiences out there from people that have begun their travels alone

Hey people, been debating whether or not to for a while now, but feel that it's something that I have to do. I want to see more of the world than just the UK and Party Islands. So i've decided to pluck myself up and get out there, plan on flying out around March next year, to Bangkok then explore the rest of Thailand and hopefully move onto Vietnam, maybe more of Asia. If anyone could let me in on some of their experiences and offer me some advice on travel and hostels, etc. It would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Luke. Reply to this

That's really great! Bangkok is such an amazing place and you will definitely enjoy your stay there. The place has a lot to offer from their delicious food choices, wonderful temples, shopping malls, great accomodations from hotels or serviced apartments. By the way this post might help you so check this out if you have time <snip>

There's a really typical backpacker trail around Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam so it will be really easy for you to meet people to travel with. Head to Khoa San Road when you arrive in Bangkok, or next door Soi Rambuttri. You'll find lots of street bars full of fellow travellers who will be able to tell you about where to visit and hopefully want to travel on with you. Sometimes you can avoid it - you are sat chatting to someone one night, and two nights later they are in the next place you visit!

While you come to Vietnam just carefully prepare the local currency and be ware of which cost you may face in trading. Scammers are everywhere.
Besides, there are lots of hospitable citizens, just feel free to ask or offer if you have any concerns while visiting. Reply to this
