I am thinking about backpacking from Panama to the United States, but am not sure if I can afford it. I´m currently in Brazil and prefer to bus in back to the states. Hmmmmmmmm.....

Im a 22 year old gal currently living in Brazil, thinking about backpacking alone though central america to get to California....not sure if I can afford it-as I dont have much cash flow. If anyone has done this before....I would love some advice, about how much it roughly costs from Panama to Mexico....living quite simply, hostels, buses etc, from one country to the next? What should I expect to spend? I am thinking about spending about 1 or 2 months from one point to the other. Any comments would be appreciated. thanks!
