Any bloggers going to Brasil for the World Cup? Sofia and I will be seeing games in Fortaleza, Manuas and hopefully Rio. It would be great to get together with other bloggers.

We arrive in Sao Paulo July 4th. Should be there or thereabouts from then on before moving on for the final in Rio, July 13th. If you're gonna be down that way definitely get in touch. Accommodation seems very tight. I'm playing wait and see at the moment. Reply to this

Hey guys!
I will be cycling with my Dad from Salvador to Rio (May 11-June 07), then my Mom will meet us and we'll be visiting (driving) the south until July 04.
We've got tickets for games on 17th (Switzerland - Algeria) in Belo Horizonte and on 19th (Colombia - Cote d'Ivoire) in Brazilia.
Have you secured any ticket yet? Reply to this

I really hope to be able to find tickets for this Ecuador-France game in the Maracana of Rio!!! If I don't, I hope Sofia can take lots of pictures of the French fans (who won't be on strike!!!)
If I had to do it all over again (too late now that I have booked flights and a car...) I would have concentrated on the northern side of Brazil to get to see the games there and also get away from the crowds. It will fun to meet all these people (Brazilians + tourists) for the World Cup matches, but I am afraid the popular destinations (beaches, islands, waterfalls) are gonna be packed. We're bringing a tent... I hope we can camp along the coast.
So, seriously, who's gonna bring the Cup home?! :-) Reply to this

I will be rooting for Brasil (Sofia is half Brazilian) but we also root for Italy/USA since she was born in Italy and we are both American (yes I know USA has not choice) we are also both Messi fans.....I do not think Brasil is as strong as they were in previous years, but the home field is huge....we will see.

The fanfests will be fantastic even if you do not make the game, though I do think there is still chances to get tickets on FIFA or locally in rio, though of course the former will be much less expensive.... Reply to this
