I recently made a long travelogue about a 4,000+ mile loop of the Western US in a 1973 Mercury Marquis, and I'm having a lot of trouble getting people to take a chance on it.
I did a project in an unusual format-- a seriously old-school traditional American travelogue/narrative slideshow-- and posted it to youtube. But it's not a blog, I have no internet credibility, and everywhere I try posting it to let people know it's a thing that exists, well, in the immortal words of Rodney Dangerfield, I can't get no respect. Is there any way that won't irritate people to get the word out about this thing?

I agree with Bob, breaking it down into smaller segments would probably make it more attractive; and blogging about it will definitely increase your audience.
