Can anyone give me advice on who to book for a cruise and approximately how much it will cost. My husband and I would like to stay for a couple of nights on the bay but is this enough? We would like a bit of luxury but not luxury prices if possible but understand that I am asking for the impossible!!! but hey ho ask!

Two nights in the bay is plenty of time. Most tours give you one night on the boat and one night on Cat Ba island in a hotel. If you want to stay longer, I would recommend staying on Cat Ba. You can arrange trips into Halong Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay from there, as well as seeing the national park. It's really easy to get to Cat Ba island from Hanoi by public bus from Luong Yen bus station.
If you want to book a tour, make sure it is a tour with a company that own their own boats. A lot of the tour operators sell packages using pictures of a boat and an itinerary, but then they just sell you to one of the many boats at the dock in Halong City. People complain because the boat the end up on is not the one from the pictures and the itinerary is totally different from the one that was advertised.

Reply to this I recommend Paloma Cruise for 2 days 1 night. Because it do 2 bays Bai Tu Long Bay and Halong Cruise. For a superior room, it costs around 150USD/cabin.
