We've been creating some images using travel photos combined with travel quotes...

Every week day we attempt to post one stunning image combined with an inspiring travel quote to our TravelBlog Facebook Page. I'm really proud of the results, and the response on facebook has been great.

So far I've used a number of my photos, Jo Trouble and The Travel Camel - have also submitted images.

Here are a few examples:

Do you have any photos that you would be willing to donate for this purpose? do you have any quotes that would go perfectly with an image?

Shorter quotes seem to work best, the image would need to be 1000px wide. [photo=12345] codes to post photos in response to this topic.

We hope to soon have 10,000 people liking travelblog on facebook - if you haven't already liked our page - please like our TravelBlog Facebook Page

To submit a photo & quote: Send an email to webmaster at travelblog.org - with a quote and image attached.*

Ps. Challenge - anyone have a photo for this quote?

“Airplane travel is nature’s way of making you look like your passport photo.” - Al Gore

Plenty of quotes on my home page.... 😉

I always thought that the pictures we posted on FB were restricted to a width of 800px? Reply to this

Roughly - 815px is the width currently - 1000px allows me to reposition the image, or resize to get the best from the quote. Reply to this

Ok, so I am presuming that the size of the picture we upload remains the same, despite the fact that it only displays at around 800px? Reply to this

How do I submit? Reply to this

To submit a photo quote: Send an email to webmaster at travelblog.org - with a quote and image attached.*

Please leave off any watermarks, the photo credit url gets placed in the bottom left corner, and a direct link placed on the Facebook page.

@Nick - yes - it is created at 815px wide - displays here at 800px and facebook at 815px. That may change later.

1000px image gives me a little room to adjust the the quote to the image.

* Thanks Xeaman - important information left out 😊

Hey Ali - we are happy for you to use any of our TB photos for the facebook pic and quote venture. Just give us a yell if you spot anything you think would work and we will email it over.

Or if you rather us pick a photo in the first place - do the photos have to be ones already uploaded to TB?

Cheers

@Ren&Andrew Thanks - that's great.

You probably know your own photos better than I do - so a submission would be great, either in response to a quote posted here, or if you have an appropriate quote for a photo then both together.

I thought I had "liked" tb on facebook when you first asked, but I''ve not been getting any of your fine images. I just checked and realized I "liked" the wrong tb--there are lots of them.

My fave quote, that I've used my whole life is, "Not all who wander are lost." by Tolkein. I put it in a blog and attached 6 appropriate photos and accidentally published it. It's on my home page.

I'll try to figure out how to get my photos to 1000 px and email them to you.

I look forward to receiving tb updates on fb!

Clueless again--I'm still not sure how to send photos. I looked at these photos and at mine on blogs, and I saw no codes. If I find these, should I send an email with these, though it seems they may be at the wrong size.

Or should I take photos from my computer that were used in my blogs, make sure they're 1000 px wide and attach them to an email? I think I shouldn't use hotmail's skydrive for photos because I think it may render them "read only." Maybe as an attachment?

Sorry to be so clueless, Tara Reply to this

Hi Tara,

The best way to send your pictures to Ali is to use your originals, simply resize them to 1000px and then send them as an email attachment. Most basic editing programs will do this for you. If you don't have one on your computer you can download a small program called 'Gimp'. This is like a mini version of Photoshop, although this one is free to use.
