Views of my blogs

I may average five views per day of past blogs. However, this number explodes when someone reads all 170 in a short period.

Last months total views was 281 as I hadn't posted any new blogs. This happened between yesterday and today where all of a sudden someone read them all and my numbers for this month jumped from maybe 60 to 323. Is there anyway I can find out who has been reading my blogs? I'm just curious as to who put in all that time and effort and would like to thank them! Reply to this

Hi Bob,

It's not possible to get those stats, as you don't need to be logged in to TB to read public blog entries.

Perhaps you could add a note on your profile or in the entries themselves encouraging people to leave a comment so that you know - mind you approving that many comments would keep you pretty busy! Reply to this

In response to: Msg #159728 Thanks for your quick response. Yeah, I wouldn't want to approve 170 comments in one day. Reply to this

Aha, this happens to me rarely, where someone will discover my blogs and then read every single one. A good way to possibly discover the identity of this mystery person is to check you subscriber list - any new subscriber is likely to be your new avid reader. If that fails, check to see if you have a new follower - again this could be your newest fan.

I posted a link to one of your photos on FaceBook yesterday Bob. That might be partly the cause. Some folks might have seen the photo and then checked out what else you photographed about or what your blogs are like and then maybe shared them with more people.

That sort of thing happens, and it can be impossible to pin point the magic touch of a certain photo, blog... to reproduce its popularity. For example, look at my top rated photo. With all the fantastic photographers on TravelBlog, why did this picture get over a hundred ratings of 5 on the the day I posted it?

I posted a photo belonging to Jens(go where the pepper grows), that I found pretty funny on a bunch of FaceBook pages. I wonder if that had any significant effect on his blog viewings.

I think, we should move this thread to a public forum. There might be others on TravelBlog who know the reason why Bobs blogs got so heavily hit all of a sudden. Would you mind if I move it Bob, or would you rather it stays here in the private forum?
