I am looking for those big cliche songs. I want to know which song make you think of (a city or country)
Example:
Which song make you think of Paris: Charles Aznavour La Bohème
When I think of Dublin, I think of Molly Malone by the dubliners
So what song make you think of Dublin, London, Paris, San Francisco, New York, Tokyo, Melbourne, etc...

Reply to this The following reminds me of Thailand. Around 5 years ago, it was blaring out of every backpacker and expat bar. It even kept me entertained in my cheap room on the Khao San Road until 2Am every morning, on one Bangkok visit.
I didnt hear it at all in Thailand though on my last few visits, in 2010 and 2011. Maybe 40 years of playing it over and over has even reached the Thai tolerance limit for overplay. 😊

Nice idea for a thread Nicolas.
Whether I can come up with a song that's indicative of a place...that's hard.
Quite a lot of the tracks I have posted on this Forum remind me of the place I heard them and transports me there...I even remember the track playing when I kissed my first love!
