Since the Islamists entered Timbuktu and forced the Tuareg out in 2012 and tried to silence the musical culture of Mali, some of Mali's renowned musos have traveled to Oz...Tinarawen, Vieux Farka Toure, Bassekou Kouyate and Salif Keita to name a few.
Recently some young guys from Gao on the Niger in Mali came to Oz bringing the message of tolerance and unity...Muslim & Christian...and the sounds that are so Mali
