How can i have an independent Tibet tour?

Hello Friends,

My grilfriend and i are planning to have a tour to Tibet, but informed that we can not travel in Tibet independently, instead, we must apply for a permit and have a tour guide escorted everyday. Is that true?

It is true but you can be a tour of 2. Just another way the Chinese govt makes money with the permit and controls what outsiders see and do within Tibet. Reply to this
