This photo is part of my journey over the Thorong La high pass in the Annapurna region of the Nepal Himalayas. It was early in the morning when we started trekking, a numbingly cold place, yet such a magical atmosphere. The sky was a starry dome stretching out all around, silent and enormous. As dawn broke the light and warmth came over us from behind the jagged mountain range like a bowl.
