Hi,
I will travel to Vietnam(Saigon) somewhere in Aug~Sept, about 14 days or so. We are planning to kick off our trip from Saigon ~ Hoi Aun or the other way round.

Hope someone out there will give some tips or ideas as below:

1. Mode of travel and how to get open bus/train ticket, if there is any...
2. Any recommended place not to be missed.
3. Any good food worth to taste.
4. others

thx in advance

Hey

You can travel by open bus, train or plane. Open bus tickets are for sale everywhere in the tourist areas of Saigon. Every tour operator and hotel is selling them. Sinh tourist is a reliable company. You can fly with Jetstar Asia cheaply for the long distances, or by overnight train.

Along that route you will be seeing the typical places e.g. a trip to the Cu Chi Tunnels and Cau Dai temple from Saigon as well as a 1-3 day trip along the Mekong Delta, Dalat in the Central highlands where it's a bit cooler and you can do a motorbike tour of the countryside, some beach time in Mui Ne and/or Nha Trang, and then some time in Hoi An.

For food, just go to a Vietnamese restaurant and ask what they recommend. Pho (noodle soup) is the national dish, spring rolls are good and every town has their own speciality.

For others, what do you mean?

Hope this helps
