Theres a new bus service that leaves Siem Reap and gets you into Ho Chi Minh city in about 12 hours... Its from Mekong tours and the cost is $21US... the bus was A'C and they do give you a snack... out of a 10 I would give it a 7+ Reply to this

Hello Michael, welcome to the Travelblog forums!

Thanks for this information - Cambodia would be a great country to visit, and transport information is always helpful! Reply to this

Does Mekong Tours service Hochiminh-Siem Rep as well?
Do you by any chance have their contact numbers?

Many thanks,

Got the address from a travel agent in SGN:
Mekong Express Tours
21A Mac Thien Tich, district 5, HCM city (Chinatown).

Bus leaves @ 7:00AM from that location, with an additional pickup at: 161 Pham Ngu Lao, district 1 (backpacks area).
Was confirmed that it takes 12 hours to reach REP; and quoted $22/way :-(

Looking forward to confirm Michael's 7+...

Hi, From Siemreap to Saigon, you will have to take the bus to PP first and then take another one from PP to Saigon. I will show you the way to get a good but much cheaper bus. You can buy a bus ticket from REP-PP at REP bus station at $5/pax. When you arrive in PP, you can buy a VIP bus ticket of Mai Linh bus at USD 12/pax. This really comfortation and I have tried!

Happy Traveling!

Greetings from California!

I have booked with above for SGN-REP and am still debating if at my age it's reasonable to take such a long trip by bus.
But then, what I really wanted to avoid was spending two additional days in PNP, a town I've been few dozen times during the Vietnam war; and also in the mid 90's.

Anyway, I'll fly back to SGN from REP...

I was also told that Mai Linh's buses between SGN-PNP are quite comfortable.
But then, I'll again have to take speed boats or buses from PNP to REP, in addition to staying at least two additional nights in PNP.

Many thanks Bill,
charles

Short text to let you know that I opted out of the bus trip and will fly both ways.
