Windy City questions...
I'd like to go to Chicago but I don't know much about the place. First and foremost, is it a driving city? Meaning, could I rely on mass transportation to get me from point A to point B, or would it be best to have a vehicle?
Secondly, nightlife? What's there to do in Chicago? Best places to eat. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Reply to this DON'T get a car in Chicago. The mass transportation is very easy to use and connects both airports (O'Hare and Midway to the downtown area "The Loop") You will spend WAY more money on parking than actually using your car. The L, the train, will get you around easily and also the buses are well worth while.
Lots of museums, sport venues for all seasons, river cruise to see all the amazing architecture, theaters to see Broadway performances, lots of parks, John Hancock building or Sear's Tower (Willis Tower). Chicago is a city of over 70 neighborhoods so it depends on what your style is.
Reply to this Greatttt...that's really good to know. Thank you for the information!
Reply to this As stated above you will not need a car. Plenty to keep you busy. Chicago has world class museums, restaurants, plenty of jazz clubs, blues clubs, comedy clubs, after hours clubs....and don't forget to eat some pizza while you are there.
If you go soon.... dress warm! Wind of Lake Michigan is wicked.
Reply to this Chicago is a nice destination if one likes museums and culture. Willis Tower, Millenium Park, Magnificent Mile and Navy Pier are some of the interesting spots here that deserve a visit.
