I dont think thats everything either!! Like a few land marks and museums and stuff we've missed i think..

I always like to have 1-2 days free to do what ever. When we went on a Sydney holiday.. we would go to places like the aquaiums etc and see things we wanna do.. see shops etc.. so it was good to have that 1 what ever day to do free like shopping and other stuff. I usually like to put the what ever day towards the end. When we went to sydney our what ever day was our second day and by the end of our trip we saw so many things we wanted to see(thankfully we had time to go back on other days).. but i dunno this time round. i dont wanna put it at the end either though because it means the holidays coming to an end if that makes sense? lol.. but for new york.. i wanted to have 2 days so we didnt miss anything. depending on our budget (time frame doesnt matter just $$$) we may hav 2 days free in each place..

Ok cool thanks ill take the empire state building into consideration!! 😊

Your from australia.. and you pre-purchased your tickets? they do that for america too?.. we did it for sydney and it saved ALOT of time.. and we definatly wanted to do that this time, but we wernt sure if america did it too.. so thats good!!

you spend 1 week at disney world in orlando??.. i only have 1 day for that ! lol..i thought disney land was the bigger one?

oh yeaaah! i forgot about tipping!! woops! that would explain why they are cheaper also! i found a 3 * in usa was like a 5 star over here!! and way cheaper but obviously the tipping thing! might need to do some research on that. yep i member reading that they rely on tips etc as they get smaller wages.

May i ask which hotels u stayed in?.. i wanna stay in nice ones.. but not sure whats good etc..

thanks, i will let u know! 😊

May i ask.. u went in september.. what was it like? weather wise and busyness??? Few people have said go in sept-oct as we were going to go in (juneish for 7 weeks) but was told thats their summer holidays between june-sept so its BUSY as! but im worried if we go in sept that it will be wayy to cold.. especially when we would go sept and finish up november (their cold season). im trying to weigh up what to do.. we cant go may as thats wen were getting married.. so its june, july.. but im worried its going to be so busy we wont be able to do anything!! 😞

There is a great book on Kindle (Amazon) called America's Grand Hotels. These are the great old hotels that are just simply gorgeous. And the best thing is many of them are really not expensive. I have stayed at some of these places and it made the trip really great. There are hotels shown all over the U S. Reply to this

I agree- don't forget to tip.

Good service = good tip.

Always leave 15 % for good service and 20% for very good service. Reply to this

Hey - don't know if it'll help you plan, but here's the climate information for New York City. If the holidays are June-Sept as your friend says then Sept-Oct would be perfectly OK. Just remember to bring a jacket with you in case the temperatures drop a little or some waterproofs etc. 😊 Having said that - I've seen photos of Christmas in New York and would REALLY like to go myself now! Have a great trip! Reply to this

I definitely recommend going to Washington D.C. If you are visiting the United States, that is one of the top places to go visit. Probably one of my favorites because you can explore and experience the history of the U.S. and there are so many Washington DC attractions and landmarks and let us not forget the amazing architecture.

Also, for places to stay, I recommend Fairfax County. It is cheaper to stay there and it is not terribly far from Washington DC, so it makes an economic and convenient choice. Fairfax also have some tourist attractions that are worth visiting as well.

Here is a great resource to help you. They have everything from where to eat, what to do and where to stay.

Fairfax VA

Have fun!

You are going to need about 6 weeks to see what you want to see. I agree that if you see Disneyland, you don't need to see Disney World. I would pick one or the other, same for Universal Studios.

Mt Rushmore is a large area and you could easily spend a week in the area. You will have to either drive there or find a tour for the area, there isn't any public transportation. I can help you find one if you are still interested.

If you see Rushmore, you might as well go to Yellowstone National Park. Reply to this

I personally would skip Disneyland in CA, they say that all the mistakes Walt Disney made in Disneyland, he fixed in Disneyworld. Disney World FL, is so much bigger and better. I've never been to Disneyland, but we're going to CA in July and that is the one thing I have no intention of going to.
As far as your trip to NYC, definitely get tickets ahead for the Empire State Building, I stood in line with my daughter and granddaughters for 2 1/2 hrs, waiting to get to the top. You move a couple of feet, then stand for 20 mins, then move a few feet and stand again. But of course that was Memorial Day weekend, so it was busy.

Again, your nowhere near Niagara Falls, from NYC, that's at least a 3 day trip from NYC and back (9 hr drive each way), it's on the Canada border, and the Canadian side of the falls are much more beautiful.
