I always think an ability to learn a of lot foreign languages is such a bonus for those who love to travel. understanding what the locals are saying in most countries, is stumbling around in the dark for me. I sometimes think I manage to get around countries almost by accident, when I don't have a clue how to communicate with most people in them.

Yeah, mine is the second. 😊 Nominations never get outdated. Even ones nominated a few months ago could become the Blogger of the Week, as long as they are currently blogging and still have fewer than 4 recommends. Sometims there are a number of good ones nominated, but we only choose one per week. We try to determine which one is that little bit more popular or unusual or interesting, or a better writer, or better photograhper... than the others on any particular week. ie We choose one that has something special about her/him.
This weeks Blogger of the Week is going to be Johnny Yager. Mostly because there are not so many 19 year old Front Page bloggers, his enthusiasm for travel and blogging is obvious and his talent for languages should allow him to interpret more than most can of what he sees and hears while travelling to produce great blogs. 😊

That would certainly be a good idea, because you now have 2 recommends. Get another, and you would have the current recommend requirement to have Featured Blogs on the Front Page. Those who make their presence felt, are often the ones who get the most recommends. Good but quiet bloggers often go unoticed, even though some of them have been blogging for years. So, chat on the forums, recommend others because this often prompts them to look at your blogs, comment on the blogs of others because this can also cause them to check yours out...
