The best place to stay will be around Orchard Road. If your budget permit then u can try Sentosa Island. As for the online hotel booking portal, u can try www.asia-travel.com (Asia Travel), www.booking.com (Booking.com) or www.mytravel22.com

Reply to this Fortunately, it is very very easy to get around in Singapore so if your budget doesn't allow, you can juz find a place further away from town (but not too far). Around the area of Bugis, Clarke Quay or even Chinatown is still all right imho...
Reply to this I stayed at 'Sleepy Sams' in Kampong Glam when I went there. It's a hostel -- Cheap and Clean. Don't know much about Hotels.
