Travel spots between Bangkok and Chiang Mai

Hi. Will be travelling from Bangkok to Phetchabun then to Chiang Mai. Any ideas of places to visit.

Hi. Will be travelling from Bangkok to Phetchabun then to Chiang Mai.
These 3 areas are locked in, but I have organised a Thai with a car to drive my family(6 & 8 y o girls), and I have about 12 days to explore.
We can fly back to bangkok from Chiang Mai.

Yes, visit the old city of Sukhothai which was the first Siamese Kingdom. In the mid-13th Centrury King Ramkamhaeng invented the Thai script and expanded the Kingdom. The old city is a wonderful attraction.
