I'm planning on heading out in May/June and staying for a month or two. Nothing is set yet, except I must be home early-mid July. I love anything to do with wildlife and nature, so everything is pretty much fair game. Any recent routes worth sharing? I was thinking of starting in the yucatan and making my way down a bit. The trip is for two white mid 20s girls. hopefully together we can keep each other safe, but I'm not insanely worried (just appropriately concerned). Reply to this

I just want to share with you the wonderful time that I spend in Panama and all the wonderful experience that I had over there. It was my second time. I decide to change my old tourist guide for because is an exclusive company who give me a five stars service. I nerve thought that I could be in so different and marvelous place as Bocas del toro, Boquete or San Lorenzo and all that in jusy week and a half. Right now I can not travel until my son take care of my bussiness I know there is more to meet in there and I m just expecting my next trip with my wife, it will be at least for three weeks.
Panama is awesome, you could be swimming in the Atlantic Ocean and two hours later have a lunch in the Pacific Ocean.
I highly recommend Panama for any other traveler who likes to see all the beauty around the world.

If you work youre way drown from Mexico, stop in Chiapas.
TicaBus starts in Tapachula MX, so you can easily cheach Guatemala.

Leave yourself a lot of time for Nicaragua. Ive been 2x and am going back again this year.

Definately hit up the mountains - Jinotega, Matagalpa and Esteli.
Leon vs Granada. If you cant do both, Leon.
Masaya is cool. San Juan del Sur, meh.. if you love to surf, if you dont a day or 2 will be more than enough.
Managua is interesting too.
Cant comment of more but I am doing Isla Ometepe and the Corn Islands this time. Heard theyre awesome.

Honduras
Skip Tegus, SPS and La Ceiba.
Go to Tela. Its beautiful.
Heard Roatan, Utila, Copan Ruinas and Gracias are nice. Cant comment.

El Sal. - Only been to SS, as a stoper from Nica to Guatm. Ok.

Never been to Panama and Costa Rica bores me.

Safety wise, I always travel alone - female, mid 20s and have never felt unsafe. Just use common sense, be in after dark, etc etc. Oh and election time is always bad to travel no matter where in the world you are .:p speaking from experience.... Reply to this

We LOVED Roatan!! It was such a beautiful little island filled with fantastic people and gorgeous scenery! We were there almost two weeks and I could have stayed longer! Very rustic island...compared to many other islands in the Caribbean...so much FUN!

Then flew into San Jose and spent about the same amount of time travelling down the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica and really LOVED Cahuita!! Such a sleepy little village with tons to do or just relaxing on one of the many great beaches! (Wished we stayed here longer too vs. heading south to Puerto Viejo...unless you really want to party it up, then this is your spot!)

Then we ventured south to Panama...the border crossing itself is a whole blog entry! Totally one of a kind, that's for sure! Bocas is totally worth the trip...it rained most of the time we were there, but it was still nice swimming in the morning!

Can't wait for our next trip to Nica and El Salvador! Wherever you go, you'll have a wonderful time! ENJOY!!!! Reply to this
