Cagayan de Oro City's a safe place to visit. In my years of stay in the city I have not experienced any chaos. You can definitely enjoy whitewater rafting and nature trekking. The above list of places to visit is a good one. There are some places there which I haven't visited yet.

I have been all over the Philippines, I personally love the southern areas near Davao. Lots of things to do and beautiful areas to see. it is not as populated by foreigners in these area's either so its very quiet still. you can check my site for more info on the southern areas.
