Hi all,

I've booked a flight out of hanoi to bangkok the day after my Visa expires. Does anyone know what the charge is for a one day overstay. I can't get a straight answer from anyone - I've been told different proces between free and 3 million dong!! Help please!!

As I know, your visa can exprire but not over 48hours, so I think you can flight out vietnam the day after your visa exprire.

Hi !

Cant remember how much it cost but it was not much...few dollars maybe :-) Anyway, do not worry as they might not even charge you as it is only one day...

Thanks folks,

I went to the Embassey in Hanoi just to find out for sure. As Vietnamgreen said your ok for 48 hours. The imigration didn't even batter an eyelid when I went through.

OK folks,

Always check with your embassy before overstaying your visa in Vietnam. I've had a message from someone who was in the 48h limit and was still charged 500,000 dong!!! Robbing bastards!! Reply to this

As for now, it is $ 10 US/ 1 overstay day in Vietnam.
