You can book cheap flights on Air Asia from Bangkok to Hanoi, travel down south to Sai Gon, then Phnom Penh - Siem Reap and back to Bangkok. As for what to see in Vietnam, it depends on your interests and how much time you plan on the trip. Reply to this

Thanks for that, Hanoi girl.

Would we travel from Hanoi to Saigon by bus? and how long would it take, approx? we would definately want to go to Phnom penh and Siem Reap. After that we would like to get a boat across to an island, we thought we might be able to get a boat from Pattaya. Can you suggest a good place to go, something not too commercialised but not a complete desert island? Your thoughts and suggestions are gratefully received.

No, I don't advise you to travel by bus for the whole route, if you know how scary and tiring traffic in Vietnam. For example, you can take sleeper train from Hanoi to Hue, or fly. I suggest you read my Vietnam Guide blog before you decide what you want to see in Vietnam. This link: Vietnam - Guide for trip planners Reply to this

I didn't say you were old. I was concerned about safety for you and your friends. Anyway, I don't need to waste my time to reply to you. Reply to this
