I will be visiting Si Phan Don on June 3, 2010 together with 3 family members and I wonder if it is a good idea to include "Dolphin Watching" in the itinerary. First, I heard that June is already rainy season in Laos; Second, the cost of the tour package becomes too high if this is included in the itinerary, and finally, would it be a wise idea to include this activity in the itinerary? If we do, then what are our chances of seeing the Irrawady Dolphins? I wonder if it is possible to get into the boat then it is raining.
Any info will be highly appreciated.

Reply to this Frankie,
You can always go in a boat if it is rainy....but for info, they are very elusive creatures....as everything with rare nature....you should respect it...and pick your chance, even if nothing is happening.
The importance is not the travel, it is the journey...and the experience we get from it!

Thanks for your reply. You are right! Getting on the boat with the hope of seeing these rare and endangered creatures is already a rewarding experience.
