Entering malaysia through singapore by train..... best places to visit?
14 years ago, January 26th 2010 No: 1 Msg: #101205
Hi there! Me and my girlfriend are about to set off on four months travelling next week. We will be visiting Singapore and then traveling up to kuala Lumpur by train and were wondering what people would recommend in Malaysia?

We are open to anything. We have read lots about Malaysia, but we are just wondering what people thought of places they have visited in the country.

Thank you for any help you can give us! Reply to this

HI FayChrisbie

I have been to KL a lot of times, becos my sister is living there.

there are some place that i think u shouldnt miss in KL:
1. Central Market
2. National Museum http://www.museum.gov.my
3. Istana Negara National Palace
4. Stesen Keretapi (old KL Train Station) www.keretapi.com
5. Twin Towers, visit the skybridge http://www.petronas.com.my/internet/pett/pettweb.nsf/frm_skybridge_hi?OpenFrameset
6. try out the local food, ***Must try -> Satay (just like BBQ of chicken, beef... with a special Satay Malaysian Sauce, Indian Thosai Poori and also durian 😊

apart from KL, I'm highly recommended you to go to Redang Island in Malaysia, http://www.redang.org/ ,where is just 1 hr far from KL by flight, Air aisa and Malaysia Airline has some flight to Terengganu from KL. Redang is a very beautiful place if u enjoy sun & beach, snorkelling & diving.

Sabah - 2.5 hours far from KL by flight, hike the Mount Kinabalu, it's worth to go for a hike to watch the sunrise, there has some local tour in Sabah, u can check with ur hotel.

Melaka - 1 hour far from KL by bus, go to the Dutch square, there has a famous "red church", it's beautiful. Things there are a little bit cheaper than KL.

Hope can help 😊 Enjoy your asia trip
Let me know if u want more information about travelling around Malaysia.

Regards
Shiry

I have been to Malaysia a few times, personally I would recommend Penang and Sabah. Penang is very rich in the colonial style traditions, with unique architectures to local customs and food. Sabah on the other hand is one of the best place to scuber dive in the world, with white sandy beaches to inhabited islands, and you and your love one can enjoy unique local spas and massages, last time we went, my wife loved their essential oil massage so much, and I believed the name of the brand was CanaCare, later I found out, it was a Canadian aromatherapy brand. Anyways, I enjoyed the two cities very much, and I hope you will find them enjoyable too. Reply to this
