bycicle trip from bali to komodo

well its the rainy season but that just adds to the fun - who is this fellow fooling?
i have been in bali travelling or living or whatever for 30 years but have never got past lombok. terrible state of affairs. i also need a brake from the stress and strain or running a second hand book shop in kuta (bali). so i Am going to do this trip no matter what. the only thing i really want to know is...........................can a slow bike rider outdistance a fast dragon?
