I was just wondering if anyone could advise me on great scubadiving and surfing spots in Bali for a beginner. I'd love to try both and we appreciate info from people that have done it there before, I should be there in a few days so I guess this time of the year should be taken into account. Thanks! Surfing - Kuta Beach (big waves but sand breaks), and some of the smaller beaches on Nusa Dua (south of Kuta).

Diving - Tulamben - north of the island - Liberty Wreck a must 😊 - and Nusa Penida - accessible from Padang Bai.

Lots more details in my blogs - have a great time - you won't be disappointed 😊

Isn't Kuta beach extremely crowded at this time of the year though? Reply to this

I guess you're right. Just hope they're welcoming with beginners. Reply to this

You could head over to Lombok - on the south of that island is a place that I've heard is excellent and a lot less crowded... Reply to this

Hi Ali,

You are right, Lomok is indeed a lot less crowded....but may be not at Christmas...as usual!
Danny, don't woory, Bali is always nice with beginners, for whatever you do. The place is simply amazing. Reply to this
