Hello to everyone...

I´m going to Costa Rica this summer and I would like you to give me some informations and some advices about this country.

I´m thinking to stay at "Punta Islita". Does anyone been there?!? What do you think about it?!?
How is the weather at August in there?? Can you give me some suggestions about what to do and what should i visit ?!?

Thanks, Reply to this

Hi,

I live in Costa RIca in Playas del Coco and just love it here.
The rainy season has started a little bit in August, but it's been at least a week since we had some rain. It's pretty warm actually and greta diving.
Check out http://www.richcoastdiving.com

I spent 5 weeks in Costa Rica a couple of years ago and loved every second of it. When you get into San Jose, the capital, stay at Hostel Pangaea - it's a bit pricey at $9 per night but totally worth it - free internet (lots of screens!), hot showers, great dorms...

In terms of where to go, visit Arenal, the town with the most active volcano in Central America - and while you're there, hike up the hill there. Can't remember what it's called, but if you get a guide or brave it alone (don't take the tourist trail, go through the rainforest!) then you'll see the most amazing wildlife and plants - especially useful if you're not planning on going deep into the national parks. If you are though, go to Corcovado - absolutely stunning. If you can, trek along the beach - completely exhausting but deserted and beautiful.

Taking a boat trip along the Cano Negro is awesome too. But seriously, just spend some time in San Jose and soak up the atmosphere. That's great too! Reply to this

I agree for Arenal, it's awesome. If you like fish, you might want to go fishing off the coast of Costa Rica. It's pretty exciting, and you get something to put over the barbecue! :-) Reply to this

Punta Islita is located south of Carrillo-Samara. If you drive , you have to be carefull because there are three ways to make it to the Hotel- avoid passing the rivers( the first two options) , take the one with a little bridge. This place is to relax because it is really secluded-no much to do but beautiful view to the ocean. if you are looking for more activities try another part of the country. Reply to this

I would recommend traveling with a Costa Rica tour operator. We went with Secret Passage Costa Rica.
