I sure know the annoyance u are having.
I have had quite a bashing, about my spelling and grammar and stupidity on other sites.
Thankfully it has not happened here yet.
On one site, there were a group of girls who did it every time I said anything at all.
On one site I was told that I cant read and write, by somebody who did not agree with my political and religious opinions. Whenever conversations on those hot topics happen, they are sure to bring out the the spelling and grammar critics.
It is very annoying. I often wonder why it is not against the forum rules on sites to comment on peoples posting styles. Sometimes people just want to chat and dont want to spend time making sure the spelling and grammar is absolutely perfect.
And yeah, BigWes is right. It seems like there are a lot of people behaving like this on the internet, but in reality it is probably just a few bad apples doing it a lot. On one site I was a member of, one of these bad apples had 5 user ids, in order to gang up on people with. 😞
And I think Ali is right too. Some people take any negative comments about their country very personally. On one travel site I am a member of, whenever I have anything negative to say about a certain country, the people from that country get very angry. All I do is give safety advise to travellers about the country and there is trouble every time. 😞
LOL Ali, I just read your post about TT. That is where the group of girls bashed me all the time and where there was one basher with 5 user ids.

Reply to this I think one difference here on the forum is that all the members of the site have some credibility - there is a blog with travel experiences only a click away from each post.
If you post bashing someones opinions - you look stupid if you have nothing to back it up.
The 5 user ids situation wouldn't (shouldn't!) happen here... think of all the work faking 5 blogs 😉
We do moderate the forum but the least of the problems is flaming - spam is the bigger problem.
With the comments - well - if it's not backed up by a blog or a real email address - delete, move on - if you get something hateful - just delete.
Think of the anger and negativity that is welling up inside someone who posts such things - they have to live with that all the time - pity them briefly, very briefly 😉
