Safe to sleep in your car?

How safe is it to sleep in your car some nights when travelling through Central America?

My boyfriend and I are travelling through central america next year. We know Central America isn't the safest of places but we were wondering if it was safe enough to sleep in your car if you were in a safer area. Has anyone had experience with this or have any thoughts on the subject? Thanks!

Hello Melanie 😊

If you are going to sleep in your car, I would ask farmers if you can park on their land. I think that would be safer than parking just anywhere. I heard C. America has become safer since I was there 10 years ago, but I would still be careful in countries where there is a lot of poverty.

do NOT sleep in the car. Not in big cities, not in small country villages.
