Lonely Plant books for S. America.

Is there one that covers more than one country in South America? Or better still, is there one that covers all S. American countries in one book?

LP - ´South America on a shoestring´ - Its like the bible here to backpackers. everyone seems to have the same one. Should be easy to pick up second hand there is so many out there. It´s 2007 but i hear there is a new one out. We find it handy for maps and sights but it has a lot more.

Ah cool! Thanks Darren 😊

Does anyone know when the new one comes out? I will next be in S. America in December, so if the new one is due to come out before then, I will wait for it. Reply to this

The LP South America on a Shoestring is definitely my bible at the minute. Whilst some of the costs etc are out of date most of the information has proven good so far. It is a fat book and heavy to carry round but I wouldn't be without it at the minute..... especially as our travel plans are changing and we are heading for places we hadn't considered before starting this trip.... I think you can download/buy them per chapter - the site would probably have the next edition ahead of the bookshops :-) Reply to this

I thought there was a new one out because I saw the same book with a different cover. Reply to this

Not until March 2010. What a pity! I will be going to S. America in November.

Anyone know which edition the current South America on a Shoestring is?

I thought there was a new one out because I saw the same book with a different cover.

That would be nice. But, I suppose the parts of the books I find important dont change much from edition to edition anyway. Reply to this

Yeah, the next one comes out in March 2010. I checked on the internet. So I might as well buy the one that came out in March 2007 10th edition today then. Reply to this
