Traveling for 3 months from Ecuador through to Brazil via Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina.
My girlfriend and I are traveling for three months in November. What I'd like to know is what backpack and daysack sizes you all would recommend for this. There will be the usual mix of camping, hostels, hotels, jungle etc. At the moment I have a 70 litre duffelbag/rucksack and a 35 litre day/hydration sack (possibly too big?).
I'm also concerned about security as some books I've read say the bigger the luggage the more attractive it is to thieves.
Any other luggage related advice would be most useful.
Cheers

Reply to this Just remember that whatever you take you have to carry on your back.I used to carry a 2ltre Camelbak but never used it.
About your day pack: Use something that you can carry on your front. Most crimes ,that I've seen, in Sth Am,where crimes of opportunity. If you are in a crowded bus station with a day pack on your back ,it is too tempting for poor people to carefully unzip pak n take wallet ,passport ect.If it's on your front it takes away the temptation.
