Howdy, Im coming to nepal to trek for 6 weeks from Australia. Am finding it a little hard to get Nepalise rupees in Australia to pay for guides and treking permits ect when I arrive. Are the ATMS reliable in Nepal? Any advise would be great. Cheers all.

Some trekking companies accept $US - could be an option.

Kathmandu and Pokhara both have multiple ATM from a number of different banks which accept international cards. You shouldn't experience any issues. There are also a huge number of currency exchange booths which will be happy to exchange dollars for you!
Enjoy your trekking.

Reply to this Yes most of the travel company in Nepal accept foreign currency but the most popular is US$, ATM is works most of the city in Nepal. Most of the hotel and travel company also accept VISA/Master card payment but they take little commission which may be worthy for you.
Anyway do not worry everything is quite easy in Nepal for currency issues.

Reply to this Your question we guess is about currency exchange. There are simply too many places you can convert foreign currency to Nepali Rupees.
However, if you meant to say you are concerned about availability and reliability of ATMs, you should not worry. They use the ATMs that the West uses, same technology, perhaps every better and as long as the ATMs have a good stock of notes, it will keep dispensing. Currently, all major cities in Nepal have 24 hr ATMs.
