Have a week to spare in Guangzhou before heading to Beijing. Any suggestions on what to do?

We have looked at the Pearl River Cruise and 6 Bayan Temple, but what other sights and attractions are around Guangzhou. Also are there any places within 4 or 5 hours travel worth visiting??

Any suggestions would be great. Reply to this

Lots to do within the city. You can while away a few hours on Shamian Island. The Mausoleum of the Southern Yue King is fascinating. The Chen Clan Academy and Yuexiu Park are both worth visiting, as is the Guangdong Museum of Art on Ersha Island. It's also a lot of fun just wandering the streets in Guangzhou.

But I guess that's not going to fill in a whole week... Reply to this

Thanks Greg,

I have heard Guilin is an overnight trip by train. Is it worth the visit? Reply to this

Yes, definitely - very beautiful area. Though you would want to spend more time in the area around Guilin (Yangshuo and Longji Rice Terraces) than in Guilin itself. If it's an option for you, I'd recommend 3 days in Guangzhou and 4 days in Guilin and surrounds. Reply to this

the websties are kuxun.com or qunar.com, thats only a search website, you can input your deaparture and destination, and your travel time, then its will search the fit flight and best price.

usually, the best price need in advance more than 1 month.

but often the serach result website which you buy tikect only can be paid by domestic credit card( i am not sure, maybe you can try),good luck.

like this:
guangzhou -北京(beijing) 05月10日 440RMB(2.6折 74%!o(MISSING)ff ) 05月11日437RMB(2.6折 74%!o(MISSING)ff)

You can try websites like http://ticket.9588.com and www.travelzen.com in English. Prices should be the same as on any Chinese-language website. Prices of around 1100 RMB one way between Guangzhou and Beijing are common. Reply to this
