Advice on route....
15 years ago, March 20th 2009 No: 1 Msg: #66639
Hi - we're flying to Chicago in September and then driving down to New Orleans. We want to spend some time in those two places, but need advice on what to do and which way to drive down in between. Would like some scenic routes if possible and places of interest. While not an Elvis fan (sorry), I understand his home land is on route? Would really appreciate suggestions from any of you seasoned travellers. We have about a week and a bit to do the journey before flying from NO to Arizona to visit family for the final week. By the way, "we" are myself and my hubby! Reply to this

Hi - Elvis attractions (Graceland) are in Memphis, Tennessee. You can in fact do that as it is straight south from Illinois. Another place I can think of would be Hannibal Missouri, home town of Mark Twain... He wrote his famous Tom Sawyer book there... they do have a lot of attractions there, if you like that kind of stuff! Otherwise, I would suggest just staying in Chicago, a lot more to see and the weather will still be good in September! Reply to this
